North West 200 and all Northern Ireland motorcycling set to go ahead in 2023 as new insurance deal agreed

The Motor Cycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre) says an insurance deal has been finalised that will allow the North West 200 and motorcycling events in Northern Ireland to go ahead this year.

A revised quote was received by the governing body last week and combined with a figure of more than £92,000 raised via a crowdfunding campaign, racing is now possible in 2023.

All motorcycling in Northern Ireland had been cancelled in February as a result of soaring insurance costs.
