Children using building sites as a playground - 'causing £1000 damage way beyond having craic' say PSNI

Police have asked parents for their 'help' after more than £1000 damage caused to building site by children 'playing'.

A post on PSNI Craigavon Facebook page says: "Building sites are not playgrounds!

"Unfortunately recently we are having issues with kids causing damage in the building site within Carnreagh Park, Craigavon.

"Breaking down surrounding fencing, climbing scaffold, breaking tiles and smashing windows on machinery is not acceptable or safe! Causing almost £1,000 of damage is way beyond playing and having some craic.

Parents in the area can we ask you please educate your children about the dangers first and foremost of playing on a site and secondly of the potential criminal outcomes should they be caught.

"Young people we will be stepping up patrols in the area so please don't be silly enough to be caught".
